Citroen crossover C4 and C4 X now also with a hybrid

The new hybrid version of the two compact crossovers uses technology from the C5 Aircross. A three-cylinder petrol engine with 136 hp/100 kW is used. The 48-volt hybrid system is intended to electrify up to 50 percent of routes in inner-city areas. In terms of overall consumption, Citroën claims a reduction in consumption of up to 20 percent.

Hybrid brings savings of 20 percent

The lithium-ion battery for the hybrid system is placed under the driver’s seat, which means there is no loss of cargo space. With a capacity of 0.4 kWh, it allows short journeys at low speeds using only the electric vehicle. In addition, the 1.2 liter engine has a belt start generator.

Back to the C4 C4 This 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, produces 101 hp and has a maximum torque of 205 Nm. The performance is quite sufficient for daily use – a maximum speed of 184 km / h and a zero value of 11.6 seconds.

Pure Tech 100 is available only in the basic configuration, which already has the most important pleasant accessories. This includes a DAB radio whose multimedia functions can be used with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. A 130 hp three-cylinder variant (Pure Tech 130) and a four-cylinder turbodiesel with a displacement of 1.5 liters (131 hp, 300 Nm) are only available in the C4 X in the high-quality Plus and Max lines. They are only available with the eight-speed EAT8 automatic transmission. The C4 is also equipped with a 136 hp gasoline engine.
