Volvo cars are on sale for 25% in March!

In March, Volvo car sales increased by 25% compared to the previous year, reaching 78,970 vehicles, the largest volume recorded by the manufacturer in a single month. Meanwhile, first quarter sales will increase by 12% overall.

Sales have been boosted by EVs

The model was made possible thanks to the good commercial performance of its electric cars. The manufacturer, in which Chinese company Geely owns a majority stake, showed that its sales of 100% electric vehicles increased by 43% and represented 23% of all global sales last month.

“We are progressing well towards our growth target of at least 15% and in the coming months we will focus on increasing sales of our EX30,” Volvo Cars said in a statement, hoping for the success of its newly launched small SUV.

Last January, the manufacturer announced that it remained confident in “tremendous growth” in the electric vehicle (EV) market. So show hope apart from being with everyone. Still, for now, the transition to electricity appears to be successful.

Volvo Cars predicts that EVs will account for half of its sales volume by the middle of this decade and that it will sell only EVs by 2030.

EVs are primarily sold in Europe

Overall sales in Europe, Volvo Cars’ largest market, rose 33 percent in March, with sales of fully electric vehicles up 66 percent year-on-year.

In the US, overall sales increased by 50%, driven by plug-in hybrid models. Known fact: sales of fully electric cars fell by 66%. For the first quarter, total sales increased 12% year over year, driven by a 27% increase in sales of 100% electric vehicles.

All manufacturers are far from showing such “despicable” performance. Tesla, in contrast, announced on Tuesday a drop in quarterly emissions for the first time in nearly four years, missing Wall Street estimates. The price war that the American manufacturer is fighting at the moment has not made it possible to change that model.
