Our Bespoke collection of designers, engineers and craftsmen at Goodwood have captured the ingenuity of this aerodynamic setting for a stunning interpretation of Rolls-Royce. Our event in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, celebrates this milestone.

A total solar eclipse is a very rare event. From 2011 to 2050, only six dates will see such an event. The Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective captured the allure of this phenomenon in the Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis Private Collection featuring stunning Bespoke elements inspired by the total eclipse. Only five Ékleipsis commissions have been delivered to customers in North America.

Today, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars celebrated the event, showcasing the Ghost and Specter in a unique eclipse display at Niagara on Lake Ontario in Canada.

For about four minutes, the majesty of the natural scene stood as a backdrop to the beautiful cars. For the marque’s Super Coupé and the first electric version, Specter presented another spectacular eclipse.

Rolls-Royce cars presented the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis Private Collection inspired by the wonders of this rare solar eclipse. Harnessing the incredible power of this celestial event, these stunning commissions explore the fascinating interplay of light and darkness, recreating the dramatic moment when the Moon completely obscures the Sun.

OUTSIDE: GOLDEN DARKNESS

The mysterious and magical light cast by the total solar eclipse is captured in the car’s Lyrical Copper exterior color. This eye-catching feature includes a powder bronze color, which appears darker until it becomes translucent when it gives off a rich and mysterious shine. Mandarin adorns the intakes under the Pantheon Grille and the brake calipers, recalling the intense rays of sunlight experienced during a solar eclipse. The same tangerine color is used for the hand-painted couch series, which includes an abstract representation of the transition from sunlight to darkness as the Moon approaches the Sun.

STARLIGHT HEADLINE Animated

The Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis has a fully bespoke Starlight Header with special animations that, like a solar eclipse, give those inside a surprise. When the coach doors are closed and the engines started, the ‘stars’ in the Starlight Headliner go dark and a spectacular sequence begins, repeating a total solar eclipse, when the dark silhouette of the Moon completely hides the bright light of the Sun.

FEATURING FASCIA AND ‘DIAMOND RING’ TIMING

The illuminated Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis is decorated with 1,846 laser-cut ‘stars’ in a timeline of the total eclipse. One Bespoke designer had the sole responsibility of adjusting the individual size and position of each ‘star’ to create a mesmeric effect; a delicate and intense process that took over 100 hours to complete.

This composition is completed by a Bespoke watch, which includes a 0.5 carat diamond cut, recalling the effect of the ‘Diamond Ring’, while a single shining light can be seen on the outline of the Moon in split seconds before and immediately. after hiding the Sun.
