Volvo presented the Car Design Award to the EX30 – Mondo Motori

With its EX30, Volvo was among the protagonists of the Milan Design Week where, with the latest addition to the family, it was awarded the Car Design Award 2024 in the best production car category.
The announcement and presentation of the award took place during an event held at the ADI Museum in Milan. Representing Volvo’s design team, Linnea Karlsson, cmf architect, and Jurgen José, general design manager, spoke and received the award from Silvia Baruffaldi, president of the jury, director of Auto&Design magazine and member of the ‘Year of Auto dell’ Auto jury (COTY) for Italy.
“For Volvo – says the motivation given by the organizers for the award given – small is very good.
The exterior of the EX30 is perfectly executed and the interior is very spacious. A small SUV with a strong sense of luxury, characterized by the typical Volvo design language: simple, environmentally friendly, practical, but also able to bring a sense of freshness with its characteristic, albeit novel, Scandinavian design.”
Established in 1984 and renewed in 2016, the Automotive Design Award is one of the most important international awards related to automotive design. The Car Design Award rewards us in three categories: Concept Cars, Production Cars and Corporate Design Language, the final award given to the design team that has done the best work in terms of consistency and transcendence of the official brand language across the entire product range .
The winners are selected by a jury of eleven members, experts, journalists from the main international automotive publications, able to provide an objective and comprehensive assessment of the international automotive design scene. Previously, Volvo Cars had already won the Car Design Award for Design Language twice (2016 and 2018).
