Oh, was that the intention? And a very rich collector ordered it? Well, now he has a unique Bugatti Chiron Super Sport in his hands. But is it so strange that we think the car is a bit wrong? A little right?
The full name of the phase one is: Bugatti Chiron Super Sport Golden Era. Its development took two years and was done in collaboration with a collector who wanted to pay tribute to Bugatti’s history.
This Bugatti Chiron reflects the golden times
This Chiron does this by highlighting the golden times of Bugatti, as the brand itself calls them: from 1909 to 1956 and from 1987 to 2023. This shows that things will go downhill for Bugatti from now on, but that’s the beginning of this. as long as you probably didn’t mean it.
The right side of the Chiron Super Sport Golden Era focuses on the early years of Bugatti, the left on the modern era, which began in the 1980s with the EB 110 and later continued under Volkswagen with the Veyron and Chiron. Now Bugatti owned by Rimac.
Drawn directly on the bodywork with a pen
The idea behind the Golden Age is creativity. Bugatti created 45 graphics, which were hand painted directly onto the Chiron’s bodywork. That was quite a challenge, according to the manufacturer, since the finish must be such that the drawings do not fade in the coming decades.
There are 26 graphics on the passenger side, and 19 graphics on the driver’s side. It was very scary for the designers to draw on a super sports car costing a few million euros and things sometimes went wrong. That’s why the process took 400 hours.
Pattern is also used for interior
The interior has certainly not been forgotten. On the left and right door panels, three paintings are painted on leather with a fine brush. On the right Type 35, Type 57 SC Atlantic and Type 41 Royale. On the left EB 110, Veyron and Chiron.
