Stellantis and Volkswagen have stopped the production of cars. Semiconductors never came back – Hot

From June 28 to July 2, Stellantis will not produce cars at its Italian plant in Melfi. Assembly lines were also stopped in France. The zones will not apply to Fiats, Jeeps, Peugeots and Citroens. Volkswagen, for its part, suspended production of the electric id.buzz model for at least a week. He should be blamed again for the lack of semiconductors and problems with batteries.

Fiats, Jeeps, Peugeot, Citroen and Opel have to wait

According to Automotive News Europe, a spokesperson for Stellantis, the company does not expect an improvement in semiconductor production at least until the end of 2022. The constant shortage of microprocessors that modern cars have is the main reason for production disruptions. In the next five days, it will touch the Italian factory in Melfi, where the Fiat 500x and jeeps: rebel and compass are assembled.

The Stellantis plant in Rennes, France, where the citroen c5 aircross SUV and peugeot 5008 minivan are made, will continue until July 1.

The Stellantis plant in Sochaux, France, where Peugeot and Opel are produced, has been closed since June 15. The rest period has recently been extended and, like in Rennes, will last at least until July 1.

Volkswagen without battery

Volkswagen will have to stop production of the new electronic id.buzz in the future. According to the Hannoverische Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper, the break is expected to last one week. In this case, the reason is problems with batteries provided by a third party. So far, only 500 id.buzz have come out of collections. In 2022, the company plans to release 15 thousand pieces of this model.
