The EU forced Dacia to modernize four undeclared models

With the ‘Regulation on the general safety of new vehicles’, the EU issued a series of regulations in July 2022 for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. They apply to all new cars registered in the European Union from July 2024 and make it mandatory to have assistance systems that are said to be important for safety, such as lane keeping or speed assist. At Dacia, this leads to the unannounced facelift of the four Sandero models, Sandero Stepway, Jogger and Logan. The new Duster and Spring models already have the necessary systems and technologies installed.

These new required safety aids will be grouped into four formats:
– Crash data recorder
– Alcohol immobilizer preparations
– Recognition of road signs and speed warning
– Warning to leave the route
– Routing assistant
– Driver inattention warning
– Rear parking sensors
– Light and rain sensors
– Emergency brake assist for pedestrians and cyclists
– Emergency brake light

It is not known how the new equipment will affect the price of the current Dacia models

Modern models will be available to order from April 2024. Dacia has not yet announced how the additional equipment will affect the prices of individual models.
