The one-off Chevrolet Suburban modification met a 7.0-liter V8 (1.000 pk!)

Of all the details that automaker Icon lists for this compact SUV, the fact that it doesn’t idle at 900 rpm “in the summer, in traffic, with the air conditioning on” is surely the funniest. Welcome to it A million dollar masterpiece from Icon: A Chevrolet Suburban that has been restored and polished to a state its ancestors could only dream of. And only one of them exists.

It appears that this car started life as a three-door Chevy from 1970. The customer for whom this one-man car is now being built wanted a four- and five-door for convenience. Family members of this customer worked on the Chevy production line at the time. The inscription ‘VF’ of one of these family members is included on the handle of the door. The customer had to pay 1.1 million dollars, less than 1 million euros.

There is a strong weapon in front. Under the hood is a 7.0-liter V8 engine called the NRE Alien. It is powered by two turbos. Power is 1,013 hp and torque 1,220 Nm, which were unimaginable figures in 1970. The automatic transmission does its best to bring all the power to the pavement.

The car sits on a new Art Morrison chassis with independent suspension all around. Even the tires were specially made for this car. Modern comfort features such as heating, electric windows, USB ports and central locking are also present. Chevrolet Suburban restomod brakes are from Brembo.

“Suburban gives our designers a great canvas and a lot of room to get creative with how we integrate graphic engineering with our parts. The sky it’s true the limit and our old Suburban,” says Icon boss Jonathan Ward. Would you spend a million to run the air conditioner in the summer with your 1,000 hp V8 running at only 900 rpm?
