THE peugeot announced that it will launch a new family of electric cars by 2025, developed with a new system and with more technology. THE french brand confirmed the launch of at least seven models with this type of propulsion. The first born of a new series – expected to start by 2025 – so he will be e-3008. The new generation of the mid-size SUV will be born, this time, in a battery-powered version in the second half of 2023.
The new E-3008 will be responsible for launching a new standard platform which, according to the news, should go by the name of STLA Medium. The idea is that the new family offers three options of electric motors, with a range of up to 700 km.
Then Peugeot will launch the e-5008. According to the French brand, the plan is to compete for sales in the premium segment. However, the e-3008 and e-5008 will have hybrid versions. After all, the goal is also to act in markets where the supply of electricity will require more time.
With no set date, the other five innovations are the e-308 and e-308 SW. The station wagon version is one of the few electric station wagons in Europe. Therefore, both will receive a new electric motor that develops 156 hp and batteries with a range of 400 kilometers.
The new range also includes the e-408, a coupe-style SUV. And it will include the renewal of e-208 and the e-2008 SUV, both of which are currently on sale in Brazil. Peugeot says that, in principle, it will offer an electric version of all its models by 2025. After that, by 2030, the manufacturer plans to have a 100% electric fleet in continental Europe.
