The Apple TV+ streaming platform released the full trailer for “Shrinking”, the comedy series starring Jason Segel (“How I Met Your Mother”) and Harrison Ford (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”). The synopsis shows Segel’s conflict with Ford’s attempt to warn him of the consequences of his actions.

The plot follows Jimmy (Segel), a therapist who is grieving the death of his wife, and in an explosive moment begins to break the law and tell his clients what he thinks. Ignoring his training and values, he finds himself making a big difference in people’s lives – including his own – much to the concern of his mentor (Ford).

Ford plays Dr. Phil Rhodes, down-to-earth psychologist and founder of cognitive-behavioral therapy, who is also struggling with his own issues, having recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

The attraction was created by Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein, producers of “Ted Lasso”, and Segel himself, and the cast also includes Christa Miller (“Scrubs”), Jessica Williams (“Love Life”), Michael Urie (“A Crush for Christmas”), Luke Tennie (“The Players”) and Lukita Maxwell (“The Generation”).

The team also includes filmmaker James Ponsoldt, who directs episodes of the series after directing Segel in the drama “End of Tour” (2015).

The first two chapters of “Shrinking” will premiere Jan. 27 on Apple TV+, with the remaining eight episodes releasing weekly.
