This Beautiful Pagan Concept Is A Tribute To Zonda

It’s hard to believe the original Zonda debuted at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show. Pagani was still working on Zondas as late as 2022. In 2024, there’s another one. Well, not at all. Alisea is the 25th markth a reminder of the classic luxury car, and while Pagani was involved in the project, the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) did a lot of lifting.

The 1:1 scale model was written by students of the Master Course at the IED in Torino who came up with a nice and clean design. The sleek surfaces were enhanced by eliminating the large vents and grooves typically found on high-performance cars. The bulging wheel arches enhance the curvaceous one-piece silhouette that’s about as wide as the Zonda, at 80.9 inches.

At 178.0 inches, the Pagani Alisea is slightly longer than its inspiration and sits lower. It’s only 42.1 inches long and has a roofline inspired by Group C Endurance racing cars from the 1980s. Compared to the Zonda, the conventional windshields are trimmed down to achieve a slimmer profile without the use of cameras. The signature quad headlights have a more modern look, while the curved taillights are reminiscent of the Zonda R single.

Overall, the Alisea looks more tamed than the Zonda by avoiding the complex aerodynamic package found on most versions of the AMG V-12-powered machine. The subsequent Huayra and its many iterations adopted the same style. The third model of the Italian foreign house, Utopia, is not very popular in terms of fashion although it is hailed as a brand new car.

Alisea said it is a sad thing that it is something of its kind. That said, we wouldn’t be too surprised if Pagani uses design cues if a wealthy buyer is willing to pay an obscene amount of money for a unique car. If you can buy it, Pagani can probably build it, as evidenced by the many Zonda variants we’ve seen over the past few decades.
