Tommie Visser and her husband Rob van Puijenbroek made a successful transition. So Visser went home Karma Begijnhoeve (Desperado x Negro) and that turned out well. In their international debut at the CDI Lier, they rode to victory in the Prix St. Georges on Friday at 71.823%. “Karma is a hot horse, I like that,” says Tommie Visser.

“Winning is always a pleasure, of course. This is the third test I ride with him and the first time internationally. He really did very well. It’s a good environment here, it’s always a matter of waiting to see how the horses react, but I had a good time riding ,” says Tommie Visser, who exchanged his Dutch citizenship for Belgian citizenship last year.

Successful exchange

“We raised him ourselves. Rob rode him first, but we took turns. I drove first Quinten and Rob Karma, and now I ride Karma with Rob Quinten. Karma is a hot horse, and I like it that way. So we decided to exchange. And I like that, I think it’s a good horse,” Visser continues, laughing.

The first freestyle

“He will be nine years old this year. I am already teaching him a little more at home. He does everything in the Grand Prix. I think he will soon be my best horse. I’m going to freestyle on Sunday, I’ve never done that with him before. I brought him along for the event, so I’m really looking forward to Sunday. We will try to enjoy driving again.”
