Montreal Auto Show | Cadillac

General Motors’ luxury subsidiary is giving a Canadian preview of the Escalade IQ. This one has nothing to do with the Escalade we’ve known for more than a quarter of a century. The suffix IQ here indicates the presence of an electronic propeller to move it. Based on Hummer-like architecture, the Escalade IQ will appear in the brand’s sales during the summer of 2024.

According to its designers, this model will not only be able to travel more than 700 kilometers on a full charge, but also provide faster performance (acceleration and acceleration) than its gasoline “companion”. The Escalade IQ promises an excellent driving experience thanks to its low center of gravity and four-wheel drive system. The latter makes it possible to improve the stability of the car, but also to make it more agile when parking, for example. Escalade IQ brings together all the technological advances of this luxury brand, including the semi-autonomous driving system (Super Cruise).

If you have a chance, climb in. You will notice an impressive electroluminescent panel – 55 inches – that stretches from east to west through the dashboard and seats that wrap like a warm handshake. If you feel like it, you can even find 40 speakers that are in this cabin designed like a private jet.

While the Escalade IQ is its mechanical star at the Montreal Auto Show, Cadillac has another new product in its pipeline. Indeed, Cadillac has announced that four vehicles (Celestiq, Optiq, Symbolic and Vistiq) will be added to its lineup in the coming months.

Cadillac CT5

In addition to this all-electric attack, Cadillac gives its CT5 sedan a little dust, which remains faithful to its fuel (petrol) engines. In addition to cosmetic changes, the CT5 has been improved with advanced connectivity (compatibility with Google, for example) and additional passive safety systems (automatic emergency stop at intersections). Finally, let’s mention that the Cadillac CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing, for their part, will be renewed.
