Revamped 2025 GMC Yukon Teased Ahead Of Its Debut Later This Year

It’s only been a few years since General Motors introduced all-new versions of its full-size SUVs: the Chevy Suburban and Tahoe, the GMC Yukon and the Cadillac Escalade. Chevrolet was the first to update their lineup for the 2025 model year, and now it’s GMC’s turn to bring us a redesigned version of the Yukon. The automaker only released a small teaser on Thursday, but the grille design with dark gray accents and gloss black surround suggest this is the off-road-oriented AT4.

Basically, GM’s full-size SUVs are largely unchanged for the new model year. Instead, we’ll see an updated front fascia — the Yukon, for example, gets a different style grille and new headlights — and a heavily updated interior.

While there are minor changes between the Chevy and GMC brands, the Yukon’s changes should broadly mirror what we’ve already seen in the Tahoe and Suburban. Namely, the 2025 Yukon should get a revised instrument panel layout, with updated screens (including a 17.7-inch infotainment screen and 11.0-inch gauge cluster), HVAC vents and switches on the center console. Instead of the push-button setup for the 10 SUVs’ automatic transmission, we should see the updated GMC shift to an electronically controlled shifter, making room for more screens and a larger audio dial just beside the steering wheel. Other controls such as drive mode and four-wheel drive switches, lights, driver assistance systems and trailer brake control should more or less remain the same as before.

Under the hood, engine options will be the same as before, with a cave. The 5.3- and 6.2-liter EcoTec3 gas V8s are the same, putting out 355 and 420 horsepower, respectively. The 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel, on the other hand, has been revised to put out 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. That’s a nice improvement from the old version’s 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft. We’ve been big fans of that engine’s pairing with GM’s full-size SUVs, since you can get up to nearly 30 mpg on a long road trip. If GMC’s changes follow with the new Tahoe and Suburban, we should also see improvements to the handling and suspension of the older models.

The 2025 GMC Yukon should maintain the compact ride we’re already familiar with. SLE and SLT models will kick off the range, followed by the off-road-focused AT4 and Denali. Then, if you’re looking for the ultimate in luxury for around $100,000, the Denali Ultimate is the ultimate Yukon model.

We’ll have to wait a while to see the new Yukon, but you can get an idea of what to expect by c.to launch the 2025 Chevy Tahoe below:
