The Ford RS200 was first released in 1984, and was designed with the intention of competing in Group B rally racing. The vehicle was powered by a 1.8-litre turbocharged engine, which enabled it to achieve 0–60 mph times of just 3.3 seconds. However, the RS200 was ultimately banned from the rally racing circuit due to its extreme power, and was instead used primarily for recreational purposes.
In comparison to the RS200, the Peugeot 205 T16 was a slightly more advanced model. Released in 1984, this vehicle featured a turbocharged 1.8-litre engine, which allowed it to reach top speeds of up to 155 mph. Despite its impressive performance, the 205 T16 was most famous for its unique design. The vehicle featured a mid-engine layout, and was made from lightweight materials such as aluminum and composite.
