Wild 640kW Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 teased

Chevrolet’s incoming 2025 Corvette ZR1 supercar set for motorsport-derived aero along with monster power

Chevrolet has released a teaser video for the incoming 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 ahead of the launch of the supercar later this year.

Confirming the Corvette ZR1 will be revealed “this summer” – in the third quarter in Australia – the American automaker has promised that “no Corvette has ever moved like this“.

In the video, Chevrolet has resisted the temptation to show the car in full, but you do get a glimpse of the flagship black ‘Vette in action.

We can see the ZR1 will get a bigger rear wing – the less-than-subtle tip will feature community-produced aerodynamics that could include active spoilers that can increase downforce or reduce drag on the straight line.

Expected to have a powerful turbocharged 5.5-liter V8, leaked documents previously suggested the ZR1 could produce more than 850bhp (635kW) and 1120Nm of torque.

No word on whether the new twin-turbo V8 will include hybrid assistance.

More details and highlights should be released in the build-up to the ZR1 debut in a few months.

The ZR1 is being developed to challenge the incoming Porsche 992 911 GT2 RS range and, indeed, a prototype has been spotted. backtesting with the last generation GT2.

Australian availability has yet to be confirmed, but we’d be surprised if no ZR1 models make it to the ground given the Z06 and E-Ray both are destined for our shores, albeit in smaller numbers.
