2025 Infiniti QX80 gets twin V6 engine | Car news

Infiniti has shared several details about the powertrain that will power the next-generation Infiniti QX80, with the SUV’s full presentation scheduled for March 20.

The current model’s V8 engine is gone, which shouldn’t surprise anyone. The 2025 QX80 will benefit from a twin-turbo V6 engine that is more economical, while producing more power. More specifically, the 3.5-liter VR35DDT V6 develops 450 horsepower and 515 lb-ft of torque. These numbers are up 50 and 102, respectively, over the outgoing model’s engine.

The new engines are mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox and Infiniti promises a wider gear ratio for better acceleration and performance on the highway. To this end, the new QX80 also receives new active grille shutters to improve aerodynamics and reduce fuel consumption.

In addition, Infiniti claims that it has devoted a lot of effort to improve the interior environment of its luxury SUV, for more comfort and peace of mind. The company explains that this is made possible thanks to a more complex structure, not to mention the new electronic air suspension and a powerful digital suspension system.
