Birthday Package: Koenigsegg CC850

Automaker Christian von Koenigsegg is celebrating his birthday with a new sports car. He builds fifty and gives them all to his customers. The sports car is now sold, because loyal customers are eager to participate in the polonaise at the 50th event.e the birthday of the striking craftsman.

Koenigsegg CC850, that’s the name of the birthday present from Sweden. Major customers were exposed to the sports competition more than a year ago and now the automaker is sharing the model with the rest of the world. Koenigsegg presents a sports car during the Monterey Car Week in Monterey California. It is one of 50 cars to leave the factory.

Fifty pieces for the fiftieth birthday of Mr. Koenigsegg. Fifty not only in the version, but also in the name of the car. Although it says CC850, the name is a combination of CC8 and 50. The CC8 represents the first sports car from the Swedish car manufacturer, which saw the light of day two decades ago. This year is not only Christian’s own anniversary (50 years), his sports car CC8S was born twenty years ago. For the design, the Swede also returns to the original model of the small car manufacturer.

Typical interior

The CC850 is not a reproduction of the CC8S. It is longer, wider and higher than the first Koenigsegg model. The design, on the other hand, is close to the original model. The rear has been modified for modern times, such as the diffuser, bumper and light units. The front light units also have modern lines and, above all, technology.

The doors open like the doors on the CC8S, so they open and tilt up. The CC850 has its own interior, based on current models and customer preferences. Leather and carbon fiber dominate with electronic features such as a 360-degree camera, climate control, Apple CarPlay and wireless smartphone charging.

Blown twice

The Swedish brand’s familiar V8 engine powers the car. The 5.0 liter twin-scroll petrol engine produces around 1200 hp. With E85 gasoline in the tank, the block produces 200 hp more! It is enough to provide the driver with a dizzying performance of 1,385 kg. Koenigsegg connects a special transmission to the power source, called the ‘Engage Shift System’ (ESS).

The multi-gear ratio transmission can be operated as a manual or automatic transmission. In manual mode, the ESS has six gears and a clutch pedal. In automatic mode, nine gear ratios are available and the transmission changes gear itself.

It is not known when deliveries of the CCS850 will begin.
