PHOENIX Suns star Devin Booker arrived at the Footprint Center in style Sunday night.
The NBA All-Star guard, 27, showed up for what appeared to be a gut-wrenching game for the Suns in a routine car.
Booker was caught parking in the lot in a black Buick Grand National, which featured tinted windows and a blacked-out grill.
Then he came out and went inside wearing black pants, a black suit jacket, a white t-shirt, black glasses, a black hat and black leather shoes.
The classy group caught the attention of fans who flocked to the YouTube comments section.
“That’s so cute. She got a funeral dress to attend the Sun Sweeping,” one wrote.
“Funeral colors. Looks appropriate,” said a second.
“Dropped up in all black for his funeral. Respect,” commented another.
When the fourth said, “A modern car for a classic sweep.”
A sweep wasn’t in Booker’s plan for the night, but that’s exactly what happened.
The Suns’ 122-116 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves ended any hopes Phoenix had of getting back into the series.
After the game, Booker told reporters that he felt they had a good roster to beat, but that alone wasn’t enough.
“Organically, everyone talks about the fire, but if you look around the league, it comes down to details,” he said.
“I don’t want to keep saying it but it’s a very important thing. You can’t just go out there and think you’re going to beat the talent.”
For Booker, this was his fourth straight trip to the Playoffs, all of which have ended in heartbreak.
The Suns ended the 2020 season with a trip to the Finals where they lost to the Milwaukee Bucks.
The following year they reached the semi-finals where the Dallas Mavericks got the best of them.
And in 2023 they returned to the semifinals again, only to be beaten by the Denver Nuggets on their way to the title.
This trip, however, may be different for Booker as according to one reporter, his eyes may be directed towards the exit door.
“Devin Booker wants to be in New York,” Stephen A. Smith claimed on First Take.
You can’t go out there and think you’re going to beat the talent.
Devin Booker
“That’s what I’m being told, now he can deny it, I haven’t spoken to him.
“I’m just telling you the scuttlebutt in NBA circles is that the brother wants to be in New York.”
The Knicks are currently knee deep in the Playoffs, leading the Philadelphia 76ers 3-1 in the First Round.
They will face Game 5 on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden.
