a new Korean photo is coming

KIA is preparing to expand its range of vehicles with the introduction of a new pickup. The Korean automaker has announced that this model will be called Tasman. Thus, the rumor that KIA had chosen this name for the image has been confirmed.

Tasman is the correct reference to Tasmania. The name was chosen, explains the manufacturer, to denote “the spirit of adventure and the desire for innovation that distinguishes the new image“. The new style was created to meet the different needs of customers. Not only for professional activities but also for free time.

ARRIVING IN 2025

When will the new pickup start? KIA reports planning the first photo in 2025, through a strategy that will see the launch divided into several phases, internationally, in the markets of Korea, Australia, Africa and the Middle East. The new model was developed as a direct competitor to the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max.

The new Tasman has already become the protagonist of some spy photos which enabled us to understand something about its structure. The pickup will have a square shape, while the front appears to feature vertical LED daytime running lights, similar to those seen on the Sorento and EV9.

On the technical side there is not much information. KIA Australia has confirmed that the pickup it will use a diesel engine, probably a 2.2-liter CRDi four-cylinder. However, the possibility of a larger engine, perhaps a 6-cylinder, cannot be ruled out. All that remains, therefore, is to wait for news about the launch of this model to discover all its secrets.
