The Italian car manufacturer Alfa Romeo announced its model strategy in the spring of 2024. The Alfa Romeo Giulia should have a successor by 2026. Like the next Stelvio, it will also be based on the STLA-Large platform from Stellantis, which will allow an unprecedented scope for the car. But more on that later. Driving: Up to 700 km distance

As mentioned above, the Alfa Romeo Giulia (2026), like the Dodge Charger, will be based on the massive Stellantis STLA platform. It is intended for vehicles in the D and E segments (upper middle class to luxury class) and can serve all cars, crossovers and SUVs. It was primarily designed for BEV models (battery electric vehicles), but is also suitable for other drives such as hybrids or pure combustion engines.

Although the Alfa Romeo Giulia (2026) may have a dual-wheel drive system, Alfa CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato is only specific about the electric drive: battery capacity ranges from 85 kWh to 118 kWh. Charging is via the V800’s onboard network. You can also choose between front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive. In fact, the platform should enable ranges of up to 800 km, for the Giulia the CEO says up to 700 km. Performance figures for the electric motors are also promising: According to Imparato, between 250 and 700 kW (340 to 950 hp) is possible. That already makes us excited about the upcoming Quadrifoglio. Because looking at the Dodge Charger, which will later be supplemented with combustion engine versions, that can be hoped for Giulia.

Outside and inside: Information is still limited

Unfortunately, not much can be said about the design of the upcoming Alfa Romeo Giulia (2026). A simple modular system allows for a length of 4764 to 5126 mm, a width of 1897 to 2030 mm and a wheelbase of 2870 to 3075 mm. Imparato insists that the future Giulia will use some design elements from the Alfa Romeo Stradale 33 sports car presented in 2023. Nothing can be said about the interior at this time (March 2024). As with the exterior, there are no photos or videos. Looking overseas again at the electric Dodge Charger, digital instruments such as the 12.3-inch central monitor may also find their way into the Italian sedan.
