Babolat launches a collection of padel rackets with Lamborghini

Specialized sports racket brand Babolat and Italian car manufacturer Lamborghini have teamed up to launch a limited edition padel racket collection.

This partnership is surprising and however, it is not the first time that a car brand has joined a “pala” (racket) manufacturer. We are especially thinking of Cupra which offers snowshoes by Wilson.

After a collection of running shoes by Mizuno was revealed a few years ago, it’s the turn of the current “hottest sport” to receive Lamborghini’s interest in a luxury collaboration. The Italian sports car maker joins the French brand whose ambitions ” it is gambling as in tennis, a sport that remains the main driving force behind Babolat’s operations today. as explained to us a year ago Olivier Plancon, sales manager in France for Babolat.

First collection of 50 copies

Released at 50 copies, “BL001” available in 5 colors. From orange to green, including purple, khaki and yellow, models are available inside pre order. Currently, no price has been submitted by the two parties.

By 2025, thousands of “BL002” and “BL003” models will be sold, certainly at a cheaper price than the first 50 models.

To accompany this announcement, Babolat and Lamborghini organized an event this weekend at the Imola circuit for the Lamborghini Arena event.

For that occasion, Éric Babolat, CEO of Babolatand Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of d’Automobili Lamborghini were there as well Juan LeBron, ambassador of Babolat. The Spanish player was accompanied by other players including the French Pierre Vincent.

The first 50 examples were produced in Sant’Agata Bolognese, near Bologna, at the headquarters of the Italian car manufacturer that made its carbon fiber “skills”, usually reserved for luxury sports cars, available in rackets. these.

“Inspired by the vehicle design of a unique sports car chassis” it approaches the style that works like a cockpit.

“BL001, designed with this rigid side monocoque frame, improves the swing of the striking area. The monocoque frame, extending into the handle, allows the hand to be in direct contact with the chassis. This ensures full and effective control of the racquet, while providing the power of unique with the speed of the ball” as Babolat and Lamborghini explain.
