We no longer need to introduce Rimac Automobili. The Croatian manufacturer now enjoys world fame for its electric cars (Concept_One, C-Two, current Nevera) that break all records. But Rimac is more than that: in the field of electric vehicles, it is an increasingly ambitious global player.

The director of the Rimac Group is young Mate Rimac, who is the main shareholder of Bugatti Rimac and the full owner of Rimac Technology. The best engineers in the world work within the latter branch high performance– electrical solutions for the world’s largest suppliers – Rimac Technology is a so-called ‘Level 1’ supplier. Rimac is headquartered on the outskirts of Zagreb, but has sites across Europe and now employs over 2,000 people.

New COO

Rimac Technology wants to grow and become a major supplier of parts for advanced state EVs, and has already entered into agreements with several major car manufacturers. Rimac Technology recently has a new COO, in the form of Nurdin Pitarevic (transferred from the Mainland), who should ensure the desired growth. The recently concluded agreement with BMW is an important step in these expansion plans.

A customized solution

The collaboration between Rimac and BMW naturally makes people dream of interesting innovations, and it also proves that BMW wants to continue investing in electric cars in the upper segment. Thanks to Rimac’s experience, tailor-made solutions can be created that perfectly match BMW’s needs and expectations.

Forecasts indicate that the first BMWs with Rimac technology on board will be ready in the second half of this decade. But what the concrete results will be will remain unknown at this time. Meanwhile, they already have their hands full in Bavaria the launch of their Neue klasse family, the first two models of which will follow in 2025.
