Hennessey “goes over” with the Cadillac Escalade-V

Americans don’t have space problems. Unlimited spaces, straight lines tens of kilometers long and more routes than supermarkets and big buildings. And here they spread super suv: crosses between off-road vehicles and minivans, large “pachyderms” to transport the whole family (and suitcases) in high comfort, and who cares about consumption, gasoline costs half as much as it does here.

THE “SLEEPING” FAMILY. Despite their planetary size, manufacturers are coming out with, so to speak, sports versions of these excellent SUVs, capable of surpassing the standard – only directly, obviously … – hot hatch when you go on vacation with your wife. and children. The perfect representative of this type of car is Cadillac Escalade-V: seven seats, 28 quintals of weight, 22” wheels and 6.2 liters of CT5-V Blackwing with volumetric compressor increased to 692 horses and 885 Nm.

YOU CAN ALWAYS DO MORE. Who do you think these numbers are not enough for? For those crazy people Hennessey, it is clear. The Texan manufacturer – famous for the space age Venom F5 – has started to build Escalade-V H850, an acronym that already suggests a lot. The total power goes up to 862 CV (850 is the value expressed in bhp) and 1,160 Nm of torque, more than 25% more than before, making the Escalade the fastest “XL” SUV on the market. Imagine getting it at the traffic lights… General Motors’ 6.2 V8 gets a large volumetric compressor, sport camshafts and modified heads to get faster and more efficient flow. And then new valves and valve springs, intake, and of course different electronic management of the engine, which translated into an increase in power equal to 170 HP and 275 Nm more torque. While the Escalade-V will be able to reach i 100 km / h in 4.4 seconds from a standstillThe H850 should hit the same speed in four seconds.

“MONSTER” FOR FEW. The powertrain compensates for the large American seven-seat size, so you don’t have to worry about taking one more or fewer strollers on vacation… or one more or less child. To demonstrate the performance of the Escalade Hennessey organized a show with Sheep TRX712 HP Dodge pick up: TRX defends itself very well, cannot continue of silos on wheels, very “raised” in the version made by Hennessey. As for looks, however, the logo and optional wheels, aside from the H850’s accessories, change the car very little. Hennessey offers a warranty of three years or 36,000 miles (about 58,000 km) and will produce only 100 of these bullet “monsters” raised from the ground. Prices have not yet been announced, but John Hennessey will be more than happy to explain everything to you, of course recommending further clarification…
