Hennessey “goes over” with the Cadillac Escalade-V

Despite their planetary size, manufacturers are coming out with, so to speak, sports versions of these excellent SUVs, capable of surpassing the standard – only directly, obviously … – hot hatch when you go on vacation with your wife. and children. The perfect representative of this type of car is Cadillac Escalade-V: seven seats, 28 quintals of weight, 22” wheels and 6.2 liters of CT5-V Blackwing with volumetric compressor increased to 692 horses and 885 Nm.

The Texan manufacturer – famous for the space age Venom F5 – has started to build Escalade-V H850, an acronym that already suggests a lot. The total power goes up to 862 CV (850 is the value expressed in bhp) and 1,160 Nm of torque, more than 25% more than before, making the Escalade the fastest “XL” SUV on the market. Imagine getting it at the traffic lights… General Motors’ 6.2 V8 gets a large volumetric compressor, sport camshafts and modified heads to get faster and more efficient flow. And then new valves and valve springs, intake, and of course different electronic management of the engine, which translated into an increase in power equal to 170 HP and 275 Nm more torque. “MONSTER” FOR FEW. The powertrain compensates for the large American seven-seat size, so you don’t have to worry about taking one more or fewer strollers on vacation… or one more or less child.
