Cadillac Racing’s plans to field just two drivers in its Hypercar entry for this month’s round of the FIA World Endurance Championship at Imola have been confirmed.

An entry list for the 6 Hours of Imola released Tuesday shows only complete players Alex Lynn and Earl Bamber listed to drive the Chip Ganassi-run No. 2 Cadillac V-Series.R, without a third driver named as expected.

Cadillac contested the season opener in Qatar at 1812km with CGR IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship regular Sebastien Bourdais as the third driver alongside Lynn and Bamber, the trio finishing fourth before their elimination.

At the time, a statement from the American manufacturer said it would name a third driver “before certain endurance races”, which could be a reference to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the 8 Hours of Bahrain at the end of the season.

Cadillac has since named Alex Palou as the third driver for the No. 2 Le Mans car.

Neither Bourdais nor his CGR IMSA team-mate Renger van der Zande are available for Imola due to a clash with the Weather Racing visit to Long Beach, with the next WEC race at Spa on the same weekend as the Laguna Seca IMSA circuit.

Apart from the omission of Bourdais, the 6H Imola entry list has no other changes from the Qatar opener, with 37 cars entered in the Hypercar and LMGT3 classes.

Free practice for the 6H Imola starts on April 19 before the race itself on April 21.
