Chevrolet announces the arrival of the 2024 Silverado EV starting at $74,699

The Chevrolet Silverado EV 2024 it will arrive on the Canadian market almost a year late. Originally planned for 2023, it will be mid-2024 that the full-size electric car will make its debut here. In a press release issued today, Chevrolet Canada takes the opportunity to announce the official range of prices for several versions, which will be released immediately and additional technical data.

The official price range

At launch in January 2022, Chevrolet announced a staggering price of $52,488, excluding freight, for the WT version. However, as with the other announced products, the Chevrolet Blazer EV and Equinox EV, in particular, the entry price has increased significantly. Additionally, Chevrolet Canada has just confirmed to us via a press release that the starting price for the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV 3WT will be $74,699, excluding shipping and handling costs and is unknown at this time.

However, interesting changes should be noted regarding the WT versions. Initially, they were only targeting the fleet market, but Chevrolet decided to expand its offering to the general public.

The First Edition RST will be priced at $117,499, excluding shipping and handling charges. In this case, that represents a reduction of $2,449 compared to the previously announced price.

3 versions after arrival

When it arrives, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV will be offered in 3 versions: 3WT, 4WT and the First Edition RST. However, the American manufacturer mentions that additional versions will be added to the range in the future. We are probably talking here about the Trail Boss version, which we can already see in the pictures on the Chevrolet Canada website and mention “coming availability”.

Official technical data

Depending on the selected version, the data of autonomy and power will differ. Initially, the 3WT version will produce 510 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. The range of this version will be 632 km, according to Transport Canada data. Next comes the 4WT version which will deliver 5 extra horsepower, but with the same torque as its old counterpart. The 4WT version advertises a target range of 724 kilometers. The most powerful version will be the First Edition RST with 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque in “WOW” (Wide Open Watts) mode. The target range in this case is 708 km, according to GM.
