Now that we’ve got it electric cars slowly filling our roads and EV cars are slowly coming out in delivery services across America, it seemed inevitable that a spectacular electric camp would soon follow. Now, the Detroit-based startup has provided just that with its new camp based on GM’s Brightdrop electric car platform.

The company, called Grounded, made its first foray into the camping space when it launched last year An electric RV based on Ford’s electric Transit car. Now, it has changed allegiance and has formed the Grounded G2 camp around GM’s Brightdrop platform.

The G2 is quite an improvement above the old Transit camp. The new Grounded has a range of 250 miles per charge, which is more than the 108 you’ll manage on the Ford model. That extra range is courtesy of a 165kWh battery that supplies power to all four wheels

The G2 also packs in 640 watts solar panel on the roof which can help drive the vehicle or its internal equipment.

And talking about the device, there is a lot of that too. Within each, you will be able to install Starlink satellite network and there are electronic devices including a built-in stove and refrigerator. Yes, I count the induction cooker as a neat appliance.

Along with the sick kitchen, the living rooms also have room for a queen-sized bed and bench seats surrounding the flip-top table. There is also a kitchen sink with running water, and a small preparation area for all your camp cooking creations.

Inside the car, you are also served with a “dry-flush” toilet and Grounded has all the equipment you need for a refreshing outdoor shower. Finally, in terms of camping equipment, there is a “garage” space under the bed that can be accessed from the back, and. under seat storage for all your hopes and dreams.

If all of this sounds like your idea of camping in heaven, then good news! It is already available to order and production is underway as we speak. Baseline hopes to begin shipping the G2 later this month, with prices for the electric camper starting at $195,000. If that’s the right price for you, you can save the slot to build now for $100 and Grounded will reach out to start designing your camp soon.
