Cupra Born VZ is a real go-kart!

The Cupra Born VZ is the first electric car from the Spanish manufacturer, and it is now available in a new sporty version. The car boasts of performance like a real hot hatch.

Cupra Born is a new model. The car was launched in 2021, 45,300 units were sold last year, an increase of 44.4% compared to the previous year. Now the model has a racier version, and the car is called Cupra Born VZ.

Cupra Born VZ is more powerful

The engine produces 240 kW of power (40% more than the version with e-Boost) and 545 Nm of torque. Thanks to this, the Born VZ can reach a speed of 100 km / h in 5.7 seconds (one second faster than the e-Boost). The maximum speed of the car has also increased to 200 km / h – 40 km / h more than in the version with eBoost.

Designers took care of the dynamics of the car thanks to the improved geometry of the DCC sports suspension, and the steering system should be more responsive. The sports version of the Spanish electric car is sharp compared to the standard versions of this model.

The Cupra Born VZ is capable of traveling up to 570 kilometers on a single charge. The battery provides 79 kWh of net capacity (+2 kWh). It can be charged at home using an 11 kW AC system or at a 170 kW DC fast charging station. In the case of the second option, charging Born VZ to 80% will take only 30 minutes.

The interior has taken on the character of a sporter

Cupra Born VZ, just like that Formentor VZ5 and Leon Cup VZ, featured CUP Bucket sports seats. They look great and provide excellent lateral support in corners.

The latest version of Born is also equipped with a gearbox with the possibility of shifting in sequence using the paddles on the steering wheel, which allows the driver to choose between 3 different levels of energy recovery. Car owners can also choose a car with a sunroof.

There are also two special body colors that were created specifically for the Borna VZ – Dark Forest and Midnight Black.

Among the new technological solutions used in the Borna VZ, the engineers from Barcelona considered the infotainment system with a diagonal of 12.9 inches (0.9 inches larger than the standard version) and an optional 10-speaker audio system with a power of 425 watts, designed in collaboration and the Senheiser company.

Cupra Born VZ will be launched in the third quarter of 2024. The manufacturer currently does not provide information on the availability of the car in Poland.
