Cupra grows UK fleet registrations by 42% in 2022

In 2022, Cupra registrations in the United Kingdom saw an impressive 42% growth, according to new figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

The SMMT reported that Cupra’s UK fleet registrations rose from 8,085 in 2021 to 11,444 in 2022, representing a staggering year-on-year increase of 42.3% and a total of 3,359 additional vehicles.

Cupra’s strong performance reflects the overall growth of the UK fleet market, which saw a 4.4% rise in registrations across the same period. However, the Spanish brand’s performance was significantly ahead of the market as a whole.

The SMMT also noted that Cupra’s share of the UK fleet market had risen from 1.6% in 2021 to 1.9% in 2022, a 0.3 percentage point increase.

Commenting on the figures, Cupra’s UK Country Manager, Jason Goodyer, said: “We are delighted to see such strong growth in our fleet sales in the UK. Our performance has been underpinned by our commitment to delivering vehicles with cutting-edge technology, engaging design, and unbeatable performance.”

He added: “It’s testament to the hard work of our team and the success of our vehicles that we have achieved such a significant rise in registrations, and we look forward to continuing to build on this success in the years to come.”

The SMMT report also showed that Cupra’s UK new car registrations had increased from 6,168 in 2021 to 8,764 in 2022, a 42.5% increase, while its used car registrations rose from 1,917 in 2021 to 2,680 in 2022, a 39.8% rise.

Overall, the SMMT figures demonstrate that Cupra has firmly established itself as a major player in the UK fleet market, with its impressive growth in registrations in 2022 clearly reflecting the Spanish brand’s increasing popularity.
