Xiaomi does better than Tesla and Porsche with these impressive electric car figures

Xiaomi’s new electric car, the SU7, has been turning heads since its presentation a few weeks ago, mainly because of its seemingly unbeatable quality/price ratio. The manufacturer proves it again by revealing the times of the SU7 Max at the Chinese Zhejiang circuit. It allows itself to do better than Tesla and Porsche.

Presented with great fanfare a few months ago by Xiaomi, the SU7 continues to show its talents and the first announced figures are inevitable.

And it’s clear that customers are responding, as 75,723 units have already been pre-ordered, while 5,781 vehicles have already been delivered to China. In June, Xiaomi still plans to release at least 10,000 models.

Xiaomi SU7 in few figures

It must be said that the technical sheet of the car is impressive. Under the hood, we get two V6s and a V8, but not necessarily the ones you think. In fact, this is the name of the electric engines available: HyperEngine V6, V6s and HyperEngine V8. The base model, V6, claims 299 horsepower and 400 Nm of torquewhen V6 reaches Horse power 374 and 500 Nm. The range-topping model, the V8, continues 578 horse power and maximum torque of 635 Nm. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just a short time 2.78 seconds.

The SU7 has a CTB (cell-to-body) battery, integrating LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) cells into the chassis. This not only saves space but also strengthens the structure. Two battery capacities will be available, which are 73.6 and 101 kWh, respectively. distance between 668 to 800 km based on the Chinese CLTC cycle.

As with Tesla, one argument hits the mark: price. Xiaomi SU7 launched in China from 27,650 euros, and goes up to 38,400 euros. Even for the Chinese market, where electric car prices are sometimes 50% lower than here, this remains a good deal, especially given the services offered.

Less power, but faster!

And to have more commercial controversy, Xiaomi reveals the times of its electric sedan at the Zhejiang circuit, in China. Xiaomi SU7 Max, which is the most powerful model with its standard tires, Pirelli P Zero 5, completed one lap. 1 minute 42 seconds 163 hundredbetter than the Porsche Taycan Turbo S with 761 hp and the Tesla Model S Plaid with 1,020 hp.

With semi-slick tires, the SU7 Max improves its timing even more. With Michelin Cup 2R tires, the time drops to 1 minute 38 043 hundredths, a few hundredths of the Lotus Eletre R+ of 918 hp or the Zeekr 001 FR of 1,265 hp.

It remains to be seen if Xiaomi will stay ahead of Porsche, since the manufacturer has launched a new version of its Taycan called the Turbo GT with 1,033 hp, a more powerful model and worked especially in its racing gear. Still, its price is higher than that of Xiaomi SU7.
