Ouderkerk NEA handball women narrowly defeated Lotus in Hoofddorp

THE CHURCH OF THE FATHERS Ouderkerk NEA handball women won 20-19 against Lotus in Hoofddorp on Sunday. It was a tough opponent that NEA had previously lost at home. Lotus plays a physical game and tries to pass with power. They also have a player who can shoot well.

Fortunately, NEA’s defense was good from the first minute and they worked hard. The goalkeeper stopped the first penalty kick, which put the team from Ouderkerk on the right side of the goal. NEA was also able to score some good goals and lead 10-7 at halftime.

After the break, Lotus stepped it up and NEA found it more difficult. The Hoofddorp team came back and after a player threw the ball at the NEA goalkeeper, which went unpunished, things became difficult. NEA’s GOALKEEPER was obviously in trouble and Lotus took the lead.

But as often happens, NEA stepped up their game and the team came back. All penalties were converted into goals. NEA took the lead again and was not relinquished. With one minute to play the score was 20-18 and NEA knew it was a win. Lotus was allowed to score again, but victory, 20-19, was the reality.

After this difficult but deserved victory, NEA remains for good in the 4th place. On Sunday the handball women will play at home in Bindelwijk at half past two against Vriendschap.
