Faster than the F1, the Bugatti Bolide begins production

Because the English driver, it should be remembered, is a three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (Triple Crowns!). He has already driven some of the most powerful and efficient cars on the planet, as an official Bugatti driver for several years now.

But while Chiron continues to be released slowly, with here and there new unique versions especially focusing on aesthetic features., is the Bolide that has monopolized the engineers and manufacturers of Molsheim in recent days. And the goal was to make it one of the most efficient cars on the circuit, while being accessible to everyone. This seems to be the case!

But in its design, one that is only intended for use on the circuit must be able to adapt to the driving standards of customers wealthy enough to add it to their garage. And not everyone is an expert. Which won’t stop them from being able to go faster than an F1 car!

The Bugatti Bolide is actually capable of reaching a top speed of 380 km/h, in its low power configuration. And the Alsatian company shows that the F1 record is 373 km / h! The challenge is to find a straight line long enough to reach this high speed!

Explore your limits

But the search for real speed is not the only reason for this Bugatti Bolide, which the engineers designed as a sports car that invites its drivers to explore their limits. Therefore, tests also focused on cornering, traction and braking. Thanks to its aerodynamics, it can develop up to 3 tons of downforce. Its width, low center of gravity and high performance Michelin Pilot Sport tires provide a very high level of grip and lateral forces of up to 2.5 g. As for the carbon-carbon brakes from Brembo, they are among the largest brakes ever designed.

So many features that help boost the driver’s confidence, and invite him to go further by pushing the 1600 hp 8-liter W16. With these testing phases now completed, the Bugatti Bolide will now go into series production. In a limited series, 40 copies were announced. With the first delivery expected “in a few months”. I hope that the first owner will appear on the circuit with it!
