Formula E: Porsche win after disqualification

Amazing finale in Sunday’s Formula E race at Misano! Porsche driver Pascal Wehrlein takes his second win of the season after ex-Nissan driver Oliver Rowland limped away on the final lap.

“The end seemed too fast at first and I didn’t know if I was going to fit in,” Wehrlein reports “I’m glad we had the right strategy.”

It’s also behind the scenes: Nico Müller missed out on the first podium for Abt-Cupra in the last race because Nick Cassidy (Jaguar) just before the finish line, we pass Switzerland, whose battery is also running low. The future still looks bright for the Kempten Abt team: the team will be working with Lola Yamaha engines in 2025.

Saturday’s race also saw a Porsche winner: Antonio Felix da Costa crossed the finish line first, but was later disqualified due to an accelerator pedal problem. Porsche announced that he would appeal.

Maximilian Günther was third and ninth in Misano.

The second German, Maximilian Günther, came third and ninth in his Maserati team’s home race.

In the championship, Wehrlein is now at the top of the table with the same points as Jake Dennis (Andretti), who also came second on Sunday, but with one more victory. Günther takes fifth place.

The Formula E World Cup Championship enters its next round in Monte Carlo on April 27.
