Get ready for the new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 this summer

After the Stingray, Z06 and E-Ray, the Corvette lineup will welcome a fourth member that we will discover in the coming months. Indeed, in a short video released this week to whet our appetite, Chevrolet confirmed that the new Corvette ZR1 will debut sometime this summer.

The clip, titled “The impossible is coming this summer,” reveals nothing but the car’s appearance and the roar of the gasoline engine. This is obviously not the 100% electric Corvette promised by the manufacturer, but what could be “unthinkable”?

According to information circulating on the web, this new ZR1 will use a twin-turbo V8 and its power may be somewhere between 800 and 900 horses, responding. muscle cars hell like the Ford Mustang GTD and exotic cars from Europe.

Will it do better than the hybrid-powered E-Ray (below), which is the fastest production Corvette in history? Good question. If so, that would mean acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in less than 2.5 seconds and the quarter mile in less than 10.5 seconds.

Also expect new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission setups with Magnetic Ride Control suspension, more advanced aerodynamics as well as the biggest and most powerful brakes in Corvette history.

A closely-hidden prototype was seen testing last summer at Germany’s Nürburgring circuit and an announcement to reveal this summer shows that development is well underway. This is not to be missed!
