LP Racing plans to field two Maseratis in the European GT2 Series in 2024.

In the 2023 season finale at Le Castellet, LP Racing debuted the new Maserati GT2. Leonardo Gorini and team boss Luca Pirri finished the two races in second and seventh place – a successful first for an Italian GT2 car!

For 2024, LP Racing plans to use Maserati for the whole season! “We want to compete in the 2024 season with two Maserati GT2s and bring good results for the brand and the trident,” said Pirri.

The boss of the LP Racing team also praises the car from Maserati: “I was very happy to drive with Leonardo. He was finally able to show his true potential by taking the first Pro-Am position of his career, and he did it in style behind the wheel of a Maserati This new GT2. Leo also led his position, he will be a strong contender for the title in 2024.

For Pirri, the Maserati GT2 comes full circle, as he also competed in FIA GT with the Maserati MC12 GT1. “It was a great honor to be chosen to bring Maserati back to racing and to finish on the podium was the fulfillment of a dream that began 18 years ago when I participated in the Zhuhai competition with the Maserati MC12. To be a team boss and to have the MC12 and the GT2 is a very special story,” concluded Pirri.
