A 25-year-old driver collided head-on with an oncoming car near Neuhausen (Esslingen district) while crossing the road early Wednesday morning. The 38-year-old passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A fatal traffic accident occurred early Wednesday morning on the L 1209 road near Neuhausen (Esslingen district). According to the police, a 25-year-old man drove a Lexus on a country road from Sielmingen shortly after the four headed to the road. On the straightaway before the intersection with Plieninger Strasse, he overtook a truck driving ahead. A 38-year-old man approached him in a Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Despite braking and evasive maneuvers, he was no longer able to prevent the vehicles from colliding head-on with the front left corners of the car. The car of the person who caused the accident then turned, the E-Class of the 38-year-old was rejected on the right side on the green curb.
The 25-year-old suffered minor injuries in the accident. One passenger in the Mercedes was injured so badly that he was taken to the clinic by ambulance and hospitalized there. According to preliminary results, the 38-year-old man remained unharmed. Both vehicles had to be towed. The damage is estimated at 40,000 euros. The crash site had to be closed in both directions by 6:45 a.m. A local detour was in place.
