Subaru Forester 2025: five things to know

It was unveiled at the Los Angeles International Auto Show, the Subaru Forester 2025 sports new aesthetics, more technology and more refined road handling, according to the manufacturer.

Before you get behind the wheel next year, here are five things to know about the sixth-generation Forester.

Design time

Stylistically, the Forester displays lines that are evolutionary without being revolutionary. The headlights have been lowered and integrated into a new grille. The most prominent wheel arches emphasize the effect of durability. These feature vents to reduce front lift and improve stability. Otherwise, the lights have also been modified and the ground clearance is 220 mm.

On board, different trims are arranged and arranged to avoid visible damage caused by daily use. Typical of Japanese brand cars, the windows remain large, giving a good view. Finally, the volume of the luggage compartment reaches 2,107 liters when the seats are folded.

Increased strength

A single engine powers the Forester. This is a 2.5 liter flat-4. Power is 180 horsepower and torque is 178 lb-ft. Everything is connected to the continuously variable transmission (CVT). Except for the basic model, other versions are equipped with paddles on the steering wheel that simulate eight gears.

In terms of technical improvements, the Forester receives a rack and pinion drive from WRX sports sedans. As a result, Subaru says it offers a “more natural feel and greater responsiveness.” Furthermore, the transmission has been improved mainly thanks to a more efficient management system and an active torque direction system.

And of course, the all-wheel drive comes standard with the X-MODE function with downhill speed limiter. The latest version automatically arrives on the Sport and higher variants.

More stable

Safety is one of the pillars of Subaru. In this sense, the platform is now 10% more complex than the previous iteration. The structure received strong welds and additional adhesives to reduce weight and strengthen everything.

All Foresters feature fourth-generation EyeSight driver assistance technology that features a wide-angle camera. The system makes it possible to distinguish between pedestrians and cyclists.
