DTM prints Performance Balance for startup / DTM

The 2024 DTM season starts in Oschersleben. The SRO has published the Balance of Performance for the opening weekend. Some adjustments to last year’s season.

The SRO, which determines the BoP classification for the DTM, organizes the race tracks into four different categories and creates its own BoP for each type of track. SRO would like to use this to compensate for car-specific differences on various race tracks. The Oschersleben course is classified in category D. The last race series took place on the D circuit, the Sachsenring, in September 2023. Therefore a classification comparison must be made with the Sachsenring.

The SRO handles the classification in the DTM after ADAC has worked with Stéphane Ratel’s organization for many years.

The Audi R8 LMS GT3 must weigh five kilograms. The minimum weight is now 1,310 kg.

The BMW M4 GT3 should also carry five kilograms, with a minimum weight of 1,295 kilograms. The maximum boost pressure is 2,710 millibars, which is a slight decrease compared to last year.

The Ferrari 296 GT3 has a curb weight of 15 kg. Ferrari’s minimum curb weight is now 1,310 kg.

The Lamborghini Hurácan GT3 was allowed to be downloaded. The curb weight was reduced by ten kilograms to 1,330 kilograms.

The curb weight of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 increases by five kilograms to 1,330 kilograms.

Compared to last year’s Sachsenring weekend, the Porsche 911 GT3 R should carry ten kilograms. The minimum weight is now 1,325 kg. In addition, the two barriers will be reduced in size so that they each now have a diameter of 38 millimeters (at the Sachsenring they had a diameter of 39.5 millimeters.

Logically, no value can be compared to McLaren, as the car will compete in the DTM at Oschersleben for the first time since the debut of the newcomers in 2021.
