Kia plans to start selling pickup trucks by the end of next year. Depending on the intended use, the so-called PBV can have different bodies, sometimes it can be changed. The first details – including about the dealer’s network – are now known.

Kia also wants to sell electric commercial vehicles with convertible bodies in Germany in the future.

Kia wants to enter the commercial vehicle business next year. The Korean manufacturer is also bringing so-called PBVs (Purpose Built Vehicles), i.e. electric vehicles that can have different bodies depending on their purpose, to Germany.

The compact SUV PV5 will be the first model to roll off the production line at its plant in Korea from 2025. “We will probably bring the car to the market in Germany in the fourth quarter of 2025,” announced Kia Germany managing director Thomas Djuren in an interview with “kfz- business”. Initially there will be a passenger transporter and a variant for package services. More concepts and car sizes should follow. Kia plans to announce more details at the IAA Motor Show in September.
