Invisible Internet cloak: COMPUTER BILD tests VPN services – Economy & Volkswagen – News

Hamburg (ots) – Anyone who surfs the Internet leaves behind data, exposes himself to hackers and cannot access some versions due to country restrictions. Therefore, many users want more security, anonymity and more freedom when they are online. VPN services promise that. But which service provider is really good? COMPUTER BILD tested 16 VPN services.

A VPN service provider encrypts its users’ data traffic and hides their identity on the Internet. Your IP address will be replaced with a new one from the service provider. For this purpose, users no longer entrust their data to their Internet service provider, but to a VPN service. Therefore the provider should handle the data responsibly. Big: No service records the usage behavior of its customers. NordVPN or CyberGhost, for example, provide good and clear data protection declarations.

A VPN can also be used to bypass country restrictions. Users can buy overseas or access foreign media libraries from streaming services. In order to stream, a VPN needs to be stable and fast. Bitdefender and Kaspersky VPN services topped the list with good speeds, closely followed by NordVPN.

Conclusion: NordVPN wins the test with a convincing overall package. Close behind and also “very good” is Surfshark, which received the award for best streaming VPN. Bitdefender offers excellent value for money with its first VPN.
