It’s official: Bugatti’s next supercar will get a V16 hybrid

“If it can be compared, it’s no longer a Bugatti,” headlined the first ad for the Chiron’s successor. The brand announces the new look of Bugatti with a short video of the power source that will be in the next supercar. It’s been up in the air for a while, but today Bugatti is confirming the arrival of the V16 hybrid. No, not a W16, but two banks of eight cylinders.

According to the brand, the new powertrain is “a true example of Bugatti’s DNA that is not only designed for the present, or even the future, but for eternity.” It will be the first Bugatti combustion engine that is assisted by an electric motor. It is still too early for measurements.

When is Bugatti’s V16 hybrid supercar coming?

What we get are the usual marketing blahs and short videos. In the clip we see the V16 engine and the sounds that the monster makes can be heard. It sounds delicious already. Sometime in June, Bugatti promises to host the brand’s ‘latest evolution’. Maybe we will hear his name then. Block out a whole month in your calendar for the announcement of Bugatti’s first hybrid supercar.
