Kia Niro 2023: price, data sheet, specifications

The 2023 Kia Niro debuted at the 2021 Seoul Motor Show before turning heads at the 2022 New York International Auto Show. It is the second generation of Kia’s electric crossover, which was presented for the first time in 2016.

The most significant changes in the new Niro have nothing to do with the car’s options. It’s still available as a hybrid, plug-in hybrid (PHEV) or as an electric vehicle with a range of up to 253 miles. Instead, the Kia Niro is now all grown up and closely resembles the impressive HabaNiro concept that was first unveiled in 2019.

Kia Niro 2023: Good looks run in the family

We understood. The 2023 Kia Niro aims to impress with its car styling, and it’s a refreshing look compared to a variety of modern crossovers, electric or not. Kia claims the new Niro’s ‘Opposites United’ design is inspired by ‘the nature and sophistication of the atmosphere’.

It has a stylish tiger-nosed grille and a large lower air cooler with “heartbeat” daytime running lights and new light clusters. The LED taillights are in the shape of a boomerang, and the indicators and taillights are in small boxes on the rear bumper.

“The 2023 Kia Niro was designed for today’s needs and the sustainable mobility of tomorrow,” said Steven Center, COO & EVP, Kia America. “The all-new Niro offers more versatility, versatility, connectivity and technology than ever before.

It’s hard to talk about the Kia Niro without mentioning the car’s Aero Blade. This colored or black bezel runs from the top of the rear fenders to the bottom of the roofline and is a styling element inherited from the HabaNiro concept. Kia claims the aero blade shape gives the Niro a differentiator while improving airflow, as evidenced by an impressive 0.29 coefficient of drag.

Structural changes have also contributed to the low growth rate. According to Kia, the second-generation Niro is a bigger car than the previous model, with a longer wheelbase of 107.1 inches, overall length of 174 inches and ground clearance of 6.3 inches. It now offers 22.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, which Kia says is 50 percent more cargo space than the Tesla Model 3.

The Niro EV has a large 64.8kWh battery and a single front electric motor that produces 201 horsepower and offers a range of up to 253 miles. Additionally, a standard 11kW on-board charger can fully charge the battery in less than seven hours with Level 2 charging , while the EV6’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality is also available in the Niro EV.
