Skoda enters the “Vision Gran Turismo” program.

Skoda has revealed the “Vision Gran Turismo” concept car intended for use in the “Gran Turismo 7” game. The Czech brand is included in the Polyphony Digital license for the first time in its history.

Naturally, Skoda goes from real to virtual in rally sports, including the WRC series since 2003. Here, the Czech brand takes another turn and wants to introduce itself in one of the most popular automotive titles on the market: Gran Turismo 7. this time, Skoda pulled out all the stops, by offering the first car in its history with a Polyphony Digital license: here is the Skoda Vision Gran Turismo.

A big first for Skoda in Polyphony Digital

The Skoda Vision GT comes in the form of a futuristic, 100% electric single seater. Based on the Czech brand, it is inspired by 1957 Skoda 1100 OHC, built to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The exterior design incorporates style elements ” Solid modern »already seen on production models, but taken to extremes. The front shield includes a wide opening emphasized by a carbon fiber blade. The the nose of the hat points like a System 1, and the “Skoda” logo in full letters. THE Y-shaped headlights they are salted and overflowing on the wings. Profiles are marked with taut lines and a belt line that rises towards the back. This puts all the mechanical components in the open air. A two piece fins ignores two thin strips of LEDs.

In the single-seat cockpit, the driver sits in the middle, facing a small camera. Steering is simplified as much as possible, as are the Top Fuel dragsters. Just above the small wind screen, title display informs the pilot about running speed and remaining battery life. At once it is not unusual, it is an example 100% electric.

Lightning and very fast

The technical part of Skoda Vision GT hides 4 electric motors : two on the front axle, and two on the rear. These are associated with all-wheel drive. Their overall strength is 800 kW and 1,020 Nm of maximum torque. According to the game settings, the Skoda Vision GT is announced 1.071 chapters. The Czech show car also reduces its weight, down to the limit 1.300 kg. It’s enough to promise very high performance, among the fastest Vision GT concepts in the game.

Skoda Vision GT will be available from April 25, 2024, during the next update on Gran Turismo 7 (version 1.46). From there hope for the official arrival of other models from the Czech range, now there is only one step.
