leave the Sea Fisker, Tesla?

Fisker returns to the Dutch market with the Fisker Sea. The car can now be fully configured and ordered, so we’ll take a quick look at the price list for an introduction.

Starting a new car brand is difficult. Fisker can speak to that. In 2011 it launched the Fisker Karma, a plug-in hybrid that was revolutionary at the time. However, production had to be stopped again in 2012 due to financial problems. Now we are over ten years older. The car itself has started a second life under the supervision of Karma Automotive and apart from that, Fisker also has many new plans. One of these is to conquer the European market, including the Fisker Sea.

Fisker’s Sea is very sustainable

Electric SUV-like models have appeared on the market in recent years. What does the Fisker Sea add to this? A lot of luxury at a low price, according to Fisker himself. Furthermore, it is supposed to be “the most sustainable car in the world”, thanks to the use of many recycled materials. Also notable for sustainability is that the car is optionally equipped with solar panels on the roof, which allows you to recover up to 1,610 kilometers per year. That’s probably calculated based on usage in sunny California. Speaking of that mode: The Sea also has California Mode, in which all windows except the windshield open completely, for an extra airy interior.

Three versions, two powertrains Fisker Ocean

The Fisker Ocean is available in three versions: Sport, Ultra and Extreme. This includes two different drivetrains. The game has one electric motor (on the front axle), which is already good for a power of 210 kW (286 hp) and a maximum torque of 377 Nm. 100 kilometers per hour is reached in 6.7 seconds and the top speed is limited to 160 km / h for reasons of efficiency. The 80 kWh battery is good for a range of 464 km (WLTP).

The other two versions have two electric motors and thus a four-wheel drive with a system power of 421 kW (573 hp) and a system torque of 737 Nm. Depending on the version, 100 km / h is reached in 3.9 to 4.2 seconds and the maximum speed is 205 to 200 km / h. The 113 kWh battery pack provides a range of 690 to 707 kilometers (WLTP).

Equipment and prices Fisker Ocean

The cost? The Fisker Sea is available in the Netherlands from 43,990 euros for the Sport. It’s not as cheap as previously promised, but it’s still a competitive price. For Ultra and Extreme you pay 58,990 euros and 63,590 euros respectively. Some highlights from the standard trim: 20-inch wheels, paneled roof, heated front seats, digital interior mirror, 17.1-inch central display for infotainment, ‘premium’ sound system from Fisker itself, an electrically operated tailgate and of course a number of advanced driving systems.

The Ultra adds, among other things: an opening panel roof, an additional Hyper driving mode, a more Fisker sound system and the aforementioned California Mode where all the windows can be opened. Finally, the Extreme version of the Fisker Ocean, including a roof with solar panels (no longer panoramic), a central display that rotates, also heated seats in the back, a more advanced 3D sound system, Boost Mode and controls for the rear passenger. (sound and indoor climate).

Which one do you take? There is a huge step up financially, especially between the ‘entry level model’ and the Ultra. On the other hand, you get more horse power, luxury and the charming California State. Still interesting. After that, the price difference is ‘only’ 4,600 euros for the top model with special solar panels. However, these are also at the expense of the panoramic roof and can you charge more free kilometers in the Netherlands because of the sun? After reflection we have decided: for us it will be Fisker Ocean Ultra.

Exterior decoration

The Fisker Sea is offered in white as standard. For different colors you will pay at least 1,515 euros. Then you can choose from black (preferably with a mother-of-pearl effect), a number of gray tones, dark blue, dark red, dark green and a sandy shade of beige. If you are willing to pay 4,540 euros more, matt gray-blue and matt dark green are also options. We’re going for Mariana, a dark gray-blue metallic color.

We can replace the standard 20-inch wheels with 22-inch variations, for an additional price ranging from 1,465 to 1,920 euros. You can see the different designs below. Our choice is the black version of the AirGlider wheels, for which you pay 1,615 euros.

Fisker Marine interior trim

As always, the interior is completely covered in black EcoFabric, a sustainable fabric. Pay an extra 2,520 euros and the interior will be largely covered in black faux leather. Invest 5,040 euros and you get an all-white artificial leather interior. We’re going for black faux leather.

Packages and personal options

Then there are five option packages. For 1,205 euros, the Winter package offers steering wheel heating, rear seat heating, heated windshield washers and wipers and interior air conditioning (also remote). With the Performance package (705 euros) you get Acceleration Mode and Smart Traction. The latter ensures better distribution of torque to the wheels. We mark both packages.

For 3,985 euros there is the Ultimate package, including Hollywood Mode (rotatable central screen with streaming functions), additional connectivity functions, memory function (via customer ID) and Valet Mode that prevents certain functions when you lend your car or of course the valet service allows parking. With the Fisker Intelligent Pilot (2,975 euros) you get a 360-degree camera, additional safety systems and a number of advanced functions for semi-autonomous driving. Then we will leave these packages as they are.

Finally, there is the Fisker Sea Max bag for no less than 7,055 euros, which combines all the packages mentioned above. There are also different options, but these are things like snow chains (910 euros), a foldable cargo floor (no extra charge) and an electric folding bar (1,810 euros).

Collect your own Fisker Ocean

With our options, the total price comes to 66,550 euros. Do you think that’s too much to pay for at once? Fisker also has its own rental offering. All configuration options, Fisker services and upcoming Fisker models can be viewed at www.fiskerinc.com/nl.
