Lincoln couldn’t get out of a slump Tuesday as the team suffered its fourth straight loss. They took a 9-6 losing streak at the hands of the Taylor County Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder for Lincoln of the 10-4 loss they suffered in the previous meeting between the two in March.

Kayla Peters was cooking despite her team’s loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. Lanie Woodson was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

The loss to Lincoln drops their record to 3-12. For Taylor County, their win ended a three-game home drought and moved them to 12-5.

Both teams will have to step up in their upcoming games. Lincoln is on the road again on Wednesday to play Aucilla Christian at 3:00 p.m. Aucilla Christian enters the contest with three straight home wins, so Lincoln will have to stop a fast team. As for Taylor County, they will go on the road to compete with Port St. Joe at 7:00 pm on Thursday. Taylor County’s pitchers have allowed just 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Port St. Joe will have a tough job ahead of them.
