Marko, entry to Newey and Aston Martin’s badass offer

Helmut Marko commented on the news of the alleged pharaonic offer that Aston Martin would make for Adrian Newey.

There has been a lot of talk lately claims that Aston Martin would hand over to Adrian Neweywith a Silverstone team that he would put on the table statistics comparable to those of the best drivers on the grid just to grab one of the best mechanics in modern Formula 1.

Newey himself, when asked about the rumor that there has been a dispute between Aston and Ferrari for several weeks now, did not want to confirm or deny, saying that he intends to work in Red Bull Formula 1 for as long as the team sees fit.

Helmut Marko also commented on the matter when speaking to Autosprint, saying he was not surprised by the progress of other teams towards the English designer: “He is a sought-after architect, he is the technician that everyone would like to have. I don’t think this is the first offer he’s received and I don’t think it will be the last.”

An important rebuttal to the Newey-Aston Martin talks also came out Mike Krack, with the head coach of the English team who said he was satisfied with the current technical staff, also thanks to the arrival of Bob Bell from Alpine a few weeks ago.

We have a strong technical team with Dan Fallows, Tom McCollough, executive director and Luca Furbatto. Recently Bob Bell also joined. So we’re very happy with what we have at the moment.”

It is clear that, at the age of 65, Newey’s career in first grade would not be very long, while the British have for a while now also focused on cross-border projects, such as l’Hypercar RB17.

His stay in Milton Keynes will also depend heavily on the outcome of Horner’s trialas well as the controversy surrounding the Leamington Spa manager which, at least for now, appears to have subsided.
