Maserati: 173 job cuts for the Trident company


Maserati not free from the reduction policy decided by the Stellantis group for our country. Also for Three car manufacturers 173 reductions have been decided which will affect the Modena factory and will concern specific designers and engineers. These will not be laid off people but they will be motivated enough from voluntary. Also in this case all trade unions except FIOM signed the agreement.

FIOM did not sign as it believes that this layoff will stop research and development in Modena. Other unions, however, said yes because Stellantis had previously wanted to cut another 100 positions and so for them the 173 layoffs represent an improvement compared to what was at stake. FIOM Company he described the situation as worrying. In fact, with the deficiency, as well as the lack of development and research capacity, the production capacity of the factory would also be at risk.

Maserati has confirmed the investment in the production site through Ciro Menotti. 2025 will be launched with a new electric model, however the question arises whether a single car model can be enough to fully utilize the production capacity. According to Stellantis the answer is yes but depending on the unions and specifically FIOM the answer is negative.
