Jack Miller (KTM/7th): Good result – bad feeling / MotoGP

Eleventh place in qualifying, seventh in the race at Texas. That was the Australian’s least impressive result on Saturday at the “Circuit of the Americas”. However, Jack Miller was the best KTM Red Bull driver. Teammate Brad Binder, who didn’t even make it into Q2, was out of the race as he finished 12th.

Jack Miller was not happy with the results; However, the veteran did not feel quite comfortable on his RC16. «Thriller Miller»: «The setting is very good and the fights with Enea and Aleix were good. But it was also something special, my journey was completely different from that of the pilots around me. I was good in the slow corners and almost had to park behind others, but Aleix in particular was better in the fast corners. I think he lost me three-tenths to the right by himself. I couldn’t do anything about it and we have to work on GP.”

The KTM factory rider described a major problem in handling his bike as follows: “What frustrates and annoys me at the same time is that I can’t accelerate early enough. I mean, I try to go or go over the limit where I have a disadvantage, but I have to be careful not to kill the tires, especially the front tire. I was able to control this yo-yo effect, but it was impossible to get more out of it.”

At least in the United States, the technical recipe for the Red Bull KTM factory team appears to be ready. The Aussie lost half a second to fastest race winner Maverick Viñales. This meant that Miller was still a good deal faster (0.3 seconds) than “Brad Attack” Binder, who has now dropped back to third in the World Championship standings behind Enea Bastianini.
