Max Verstappen: His prediction for the Japanese doctor / Formula 1

Best time in the first practice session for the Japanese GP, no time in the second: Triple F1 champion Max Verstappen would like to do more laps and say what fans can expect now.

And once again the bad weather at Suzuka plays a few tricks on the Formula 1 drivers: In changeable conditions, with repeated rain, World Championship leader Max Verstappen (26) had the best time in the first training session to a traditional Japanese doctor, In the second, the GP winner 56 times was left without time, like the rest of his colleagues.

Verstappen, winner of Suzuka in 2022 and 2023, says despite a mixed day in Japan: “A good start for us. The balance of the car was good from the start, which is always a solid start. But what has been shown in the last GP weekend is confirmed here – the field is closer than a year ago.

“There wasn’t much to do in the second training session. Now we don’t have experience from endurance running, but you can’t do anything about the weather. Other than that, it’s the same for everyone.”

“There are still a few things we want to look at in terms of voting. Now we have to try to make up for that in the third training session on Saturday. But overall I am happy with the first day. Suzuka has been a great track for us in recent years and I expect it to be the same in 2024.”
