Mitsubishi relies on petrol and hybrid variants for the ASX

After the Colt, Mitsubishi is also completely relaunching the B-segment SUV ASX on the market. The car will be manufactured in Valladolid in Spain and will be on Austrian roads from autumn 2024.

Three engines

The entry-level engine is a three-cylinder with a displacement of one liter and turbocharging. The engine is connected to a six-speed gearbox and produces an output of 91 hp and a torque of 160 Newton meters.

Another engine variant is the ASX with a four-cylinder petrol engine with direct injection and turbocharging, which is connected to a mild hybrid system. This uses a belt-driven starter generator along with a 12-volt lithium-ion battery.

The system is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The engine produces 140 horsepower with a manual transmission and 260 Newton meters of torque.

The hybrid variant combines a 1.6 liter petrol engine with two electric motors and a multi-mode automatic transmission.

The ASX is available in five metallic colors across all trim levels: Crystal White, Solar Red, Onyx Black, Royal Blue and Steel Grey. On the Diamond and Diamond trim levels, the Onyx Black Metallic roof can be paired with any color option (except Onyx Black) for a distinctive two-tone look.
